Dr. Wei Xie is Assistant Professor at China Center for Agricultural Policy, School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences in Peking University. He is also Deputy Director of China Center for Agricultural Policy in Peking University and ‘Bo Ya Young Scientist’ of Peking University. Dr. Xie is the prestigious ‘Excellent Young Scientist’ research award by the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in Agricultural Economics. His research focuses on climate change and food security policy. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, including the top journals in Agricultural Economics (e.g., American Journal of Agricultural Economics) and the top interdisciplinary journals (Nature, Nature Plants, Nature Food, Risk Analysis, Environmental Research Letters, among others). Dr. Xie’s paper about climate change and beer drought was rewarded the 2018 Altimetric Top 100 award and the most “talked about” climate change-related paper in media and social media. His paper in CAER was selected as the ‘Highly Commended Paper’ in the 2018 Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence and as CAER High Citation Awards in 2019. Currently, he is PI/Co-PI of 6 projects on climate change and food policy funded by China’s government. Based on his research, he also submitted several policy briefs to China’s government to aid policy decisions.
