Prof. Jikun Huang was invited to give a keynote speech at the 3rd Sanya International Seed Industry Scientists Conference.

On January 4, 2024, the 3rd Sanya International Congress of Seed Industry Scientists was held in Sanya. The theme of the conference is "Focus on scientific and technological innovation in the seed industry, and firmly build the foundation of modern seed industry". The conference invited more than 30 Chinese and foreign academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, the African Academy of Sciences and other Chinese and foreign academicians, nearly 40 international experts from 18 countries, more than a hundred Chinese and foreign seed industry scientists, business leaders, industry elites, 2248 delegates gathered together to talk about the way of revitalization of the seed industry, more than 120 wonderful reports, grasp the pulse of the industry, insight into the development trend, collision of wisdom, sharing cutting-edge results, and seek common ground! More than 120 exciting reports were presented to grasp the pulse of the industry, gain insight into the development trend, collide wisdom, share cutting-edge achievements and seek common development of seed industry.

Prof. Jikun Huang, Director of New Rural Development Institute Peking University, was invited to attend the conference and gave a keynote speech entitled "Digital Technology for Agricultural Rural Development" at the Modern Agricultural Leadership Forum. Prof. Jikun Huang said that digital technology to help rural agricultural development potential, at the same time, to promote the application of digital technology in rural agriculture is also facing challenges. First of all, according to the development of the seed industry's actual needs to see what problems digital technology can solve, and do a good job of top-level design, especially planning for the near, medium and long-term development route. Secondly, increase the investment in digital technology, only the continuous innovation and development of digital technology, the cost can be reduced, and the efficiency of agricultural development can be improved. In addition, attention should be paid to the development gap of digital technology, not only the city should be developed, but also the rural areas should be developed, and the ability of farmers to use digital technology should be continuously improved; only if the majority of farmers can use digital technology, digital technology in the countryside can be developed more widely and more rapidly.
